One hub for all your apps
Client admins manage their organisation's apps under "Manage applications". Under "My applications", users only see what has been released for their access profile.
Platform · Module · Apps
In ENABLE your Power BI apps, built-in portal apps and external tools sit together in the "Applications" hub, with one login and the same access profiles. If you want to build internal apps on your business data, you can do so with the AI App Builder or as a custom app. Both are in pilot and only go live after review by platform admins.
If you want to build internal apps, the same questions usually come first: where does the app run, how do people sign in, who can see what and where does the data come from? In ENABLE those questions are already answered. Apps sit in the same portal as your dashboards, use the same login and the same access profiles, and read from the same data warehouse.
The "Applications" hub brings together three kinds of apps: Power BI apps that open a dashboard, built-in portal apps such as Targets, and external apps that you show as a link or embedded in the portal. Under "My applications", users only see the apps that belong to their profile.
For apps that don't exist yet, ENABLE has two routes in pilot: the AI App Builder and custom apps with your own code. Both work only with approved data.
Features
Client admins manage their organisation's apps under "Manage applications". Under "My applications", users only see what has been released for their access profile.
A Power BI app opens the right dashboard directly. An external app opens in a new tab or embedded in the portal, so existing tools sit next to your dashboards.
Record targets for your KPIs by month and by area, in a unit of your choice, with a full history. The targets are stored in your data warehouse, so you can use them in Power BI.
A made-up example of an app you can have built: an order proposal per item based on stock, sales and lead time, using data from your own warehouse.
Describe in a chat which app you need and see the proposal straight away in the portal: tables, charts, key figures and scenario calculators on approved data.
For apps with their own logic: a dedicated repository and hosting project per app, sign-in through the portal and access only to approved, versioned data endpoints.
A standalone app next to your dashboards often means an extra login, a separate user list and its own copy of the data. A year later, nobody knows which figures are in which app. In ENABLE, apps belong to the portal: the same users, the same branding, the same access profiles and the same data warehouse.
That also makes ENABLE usable as a business app builder for small, focused applications: an input screen for targets, a planning overview, a scenario calculator. Not a replacement for your ERP, but the apps that currently live between Excel files.
Targets is designed to record KPI targets centrally rather than in a spreadsheet. You pick a month, enter a target per area and per KPI and save. Client admins add or remove KPIs; previously saved targets stay in the history. Because the targets go into a dedicated schema in your data warehouse, you can show them in Power BI right next to actuals.
You can also have your own apps built. A made-up example: a wholesaler such as Acme Groothandel wants a stock planner that creates an order proposal per item based on current stock, sales over the past weeks and the supplier's lead time. You build an app like that with the AI App Builder or as a custom app (both in pilot), on data from your own data warehouse.
Client admins choose "New application" under "Applications". A chat opens with a canvas alongside it. You describe what the app should do, see the proposal working straight away and refine it with follow-up questions. You reopen existing apps via "Build with AI".
The AI App Builder only works with read-only data endpoints that your organisation has already published. The model sees column names and data types, never rows of data or passwords. Creating a proposal doesn't put anything live: you submit a version, platform admins review it and publish it for the access profiles you choose.
Sometimes you need more than a generated app. For custom apps, each app gets its own private repository and its own isolated hosting project. You start from a starter project (Next.js and TypeScript) with portal sign-in already built in: users open the app from ENABLE without a second password.
An app only reads data through endpoints that platform admins have approved per app, pinned to a version of the query. For local development there is a developer key that is valid for seven days. Every release is reviewed in advance for code, dependencies, sign-in, data use and costs. If you pause an app, its sessions are revoked immediately.
Not every application needs new code. An overview of the options in the "Applications" hub:
| Type of app | When | Status |
|---|---|---|
| External app (link or embedded) | You already have the tool and want it in the portal | Live |
| Power BI app | A dashboard as a tile among your apps | Live |
| Targets | Record monthly KPI targets | Live |
| AI App Builder | Tables, charts and calculators on existing data | Pilot |
| Custom app | Your own logic and code, with portal sign-in | Pilot |
In ENABLE
Decide whether you are adding an existing tool, using a built-in app or building a new app with the AI App Builder or as a custom app.
Publish the queries you need in the SQL Explorer. For custom apps, platform admins approve per app which endpoints may be used.
Add a link or embedded app, describe your app in the chat or develop it from the starter project.
Platform admins review new apps and releases and publish the tile for the access profiles you choose.
FAQ
Yes, in two ways, both in pilot. With the AI App Builder you describe an app in a chat and see the proposal straight away in the portal. For apps with their own logic there is the custom apps route, with a dedicated repository and sign-in through the portal.
The AI App Builder is a chat with a canvas in ENABLE that lets a client admin generate a scoped app, such as tables, charts and scenario calculators. The app only uses approved, read-only data and only goes live after review by platform admins.
Only data from published, read-only queries on your own data warehouse. For custom apps, platform admins approve per app which endpoints may be used, pinned to a version. An app cannot change data in your sources.
Through the portal. A custom app uses the portal login (SSO), so users open it from ENABLE without a second password. On every data request, ENABLE checks again whether the user still has access.
Yes. You add an external app as a link that opens in a new tab, or embedded in the portal. You decide per access profile who sees the app.
