Financial dashboard across administrations
Revenue, costs and result per month from the G/L transactions of one or more administrations, compared with budget and last year.
Integration · Exact Online
For Exact Online Power BI dashboards, you load the data via the Exact Online API into your own data warehouse, model it and use it in ENABLE. ENABLE has no built-in Exact Online connector; the connection always runs via the warehouse.
With Exact Online Power BI reporting, you go beyond the standard reports in Exact Online. Think of a financial dashboard across multiple administrations (companies), margin per customer or project results, combined with data from your CRM or online shop.
In ENABLE you use Exact Online data via your own data warehouse. The data is loaded outside the portal via the Exact Online API, for example with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled. Dashboards, the SQL Explorer and the Data API then read from the same model.
In ENABLE
Revenue, costs and result per month from the G/L transactions of one or more administrations, compared with budget and last year.
Outstanding items per customer and by age, and an overview of amounts receivable and payable.
Hours and costs per project against what has been invoiced, so you see which projects are profitable.
In the SQL Explorer you ask, for example, which customers have grown the most this year. The AI writes the SQL on your warehouse.
Put Exact Online invoices alongside deals from your CRM, so you see the journey from quote to paid invoice.
Steps
There are several ways to access Exact Online data, but the Exact Online API has limits on the number of requests. By loading the data into a warehouse periodically, you do not put load on that API every time someone opens a dashboard. In the warehouse you can also:
You need an Exact Online user with rights to the administrations you want to access. For a custom integration via the API, you also need an app registration with Exact Online. If you choose a standard connector, that provider usually handles the connection with Exact Online; we decide which route fits best during the intake.
ENABLE itself does not connect to Exact Online. The portal connects only to your data warehouse, encrypted and read-only.
In the portal, users open their Exact Online dashboards with two-factor authentication and see when the data was last refreshed. You record monthly targets per KPI in the built-in Targets app, and controllers ask additional questions in the SQL Explorer, with export to CSV (opens in Excel).
FAQ
No, not as a built-in connector. The data comes via your data warehouse: Exact Online data is loaded via the API, for example with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then used in ENABLE. We determine the best loading route during the intake.
There are ways to connect Power BI directly to Exact Online, but for reliable and fast reporting you usually load the data into a data warehouse first. There you model the general ledger, invoices and receivables into tables that Power BI calculates on. In ENABLE you share those reports with access by role.
Yes, if you load the data from all administrations into your data warehouse. In the model you compare or add them up, and with row-level security you determine who sees which administration.
Yes, if the data is in your data warehouse. In the SQL Explorer, the AI converts your question into SQL. The AI sees only table and column names, no amounts or other rows of data.
