Connect PostNL. Through your own data warehouse.

You use PostNL data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for PostNL.

What is PostNL?

PostNL is the Dutch postal and parcel company that delivers letters and parcels in the Netherlands and Belgium. Online shops and other businesses use it for domestic and international shipments.

How to use PostNL data in ENABLE

Data from PostNL is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Your shop or a WMS such as Picqer links shipments to orders, so you can see total lead time from order to delivery. Trengo or Zendesk shows whether delivery delays lead to more customer questions.

What you do with PostNL data

Plain-language questions

  • “What share of our parcels are delivered the next working day?”
  • “How often is the recipient not at home at the first delivery attempt, by region?”
  • “How many parcels end up at a PostNL point?”
  • “What does a shipment to Belgium cost on average compared with a domestic one?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in PostNL connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from PostNL is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which PostNL data can you use?

Typically shipments with barcode and product (parcel, letterbox parcel, registered), track and trace statuses with timestamps, delivery attempts and reason for non-delivery and deliveries to a PostNL point. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about PostNL data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect PostNL?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
