Connect Gusto. Through your own data warehouse.

You use Gusto data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for Gusto.

What is Gusto?

Gusto is American software for payroll, benefits and HR aimed at small businesses. It is built for employers with staff in the United States.

How to use Gusto data in ENABLE

Data from Gusto is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Payroll costs from Gusto next to the books in QuickBooks or Xero give a full monthly picture of US staff costs. If you also have Dutch employees in Nmbrs, you can bring both together in one view by country.

Note: Employer taxes and benefits follow US rules, so they are not directly comparable with Dutch payroll costs. Amounts are in US dollars.

Plain-language questions

  • “How much overtime did we pay each month to hourly employees?”
  • “What does one FTE cost in our US office, including benefits?”
  • “How does the number of contractors compare with the number of employees?”
  • “How many people left the US team this year?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in Gusto connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from Gusto is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which Gusto data can you use?

Typically employees and their pay type (hourly or salaried), payroll runs with gross pay, net pay and deductions, hours worked and overtime and benefits such as health insurance and retirement plans. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about Gusto data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect Gusto?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
