Connect Intercom. Through your own data warehouse.

You use Intercom data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for Intercom.

What is Intercom?

Intercom is a customer communication platform with chat on the website and in the app, a shared inbox, a help centre and an AI assistant. It is widely used by SaaS and internet companies that want to help customers inside their product.

How to use Intercom data in ENABLE

Data from Intercom is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Stripe or Chargebee shows whether customers with many conversations are more likely to cancel or to expand. Mixpanel links conversations to behaviour in your product, so you can see which features generate questions.

Note: Conversations answered entirely by a bot have a strong effect on reply and resolution times. Report bot and human conversations separately.

What you do with Intercom data

Plain-language questions

  • “How many conversations does the bot resolve without handing over to a person?”
  • “Which topics most often lead to a handover to the second-line team?”
  • “How quickly do we reply outside office hours compared with during the day?”
  • “Which customer segments start the most conversations per active user?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in Intercom connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from Intercom is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which Intercom data can you use?

Typically conversations with state, channel and assigned teammate, conversation parts (messages, notes, assignments), contacts (users and leads) and companies and teammates and teams. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about Intercom data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect Intercom?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
