Connect Box. Through your own data warehouse.

You use Box data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for Box.

What is Box?

Box is a cloud platform for storing, sharing and managing files, aimed at organisations with strict requirements for access control and retention. It is often used by departments such as finance, legal and HR.

How to use Box data in ENABLE

Data from Box is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Budgets and contract overviews from Box next to actuals from Dynamics 365 Finance or NetSuite reveal deviations per department and supplier. Establishment overviews next to HR data from Personio or HiBob show the gap between planned and actual staffing.

What you do with Box data

Plain-language questions

  • “How has working capital developed according to the month-end closes over the past year?”
  • “Which departments are over budget, and since which month?”
  • “How much are we spending per supplier compared with what the contract overview agrees?”
  • “How does headcount per department compare with the approved establishment?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in Box connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from Box is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which Box data can you use?

Typically month-end closes and financial overviews, departmental budget files, supplier and contract overviews and HR establishment and staffing overviews. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about Box data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect Box?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
