Connect OneDrive. Through your own data warehouse.

You use OneDrive data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for OneDrive.

What is OneDrive?

OneDrive is the file storage of Microsoft 365, where employees store, sync and share their files. For reporting, it matters mainly because it holds many Excel and CSV files that people update periodically.

How to use OneDrive data in ENABLE

Data from OneDrive is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Files from OneDrive often fill gaps: a payroll report next to revenue from AFAS Profit or Exact Online gives the personnel cost ratio, and a stock list at each month end enables a trend the ERP itself does not keep.

Note: OneDrive is tied to one employee's account. If that person leaves, the file may disappear after a while. Source files for reporting are better kept in a shared SharePoint library or a Teams channel.

Plain-language questions

  • “How has inventory value developed at each month end over the past year?”
  • “What share of revenue goes on personnel costs, according to the payroll provider's monthly reports?”
  • “Which five suppliers do we buy from most, and does that change per quarter?”
  • “Which departments deviate most from their budget?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

How to connect OneDrive

  1. 1Sketch the end resultFirst decide which questions and dashboards you want from OneDrive data; that tells you which data is needed.
  2. 2Load into your data warehouseOutside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration. We decide which route fits during the intake.
  3. 3ModelTables and definitions that work with your other sources, so everyone sees the same numbers.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in OneDrive connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from OneDrive is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which OneDrive data can you use?

Typically monthly Excel reports from departments, exports from systems without an integration, reports from the payroll provider and stock lists at each month end. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about OneDrive data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect OneDrive?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
