Connect FreshBooks. Through your own data warehouse.

You use FreshBooks data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for FreshBooks.

What is FreshBooks?

FreshBooks is a Canadian online package for invoicing and accounting. It is used mainly by freelancers and small service businesses that track their time and invoice on that basis.

How to use FreshBooks data in ENABLE

Data from FreshBooks is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

FreshBooks alongside Asana or ClickUp shows how much work went into a project against what was invoiced. Adding Stripe or PayPal payments shows which payment method leads to the fastest receipt.

Plain-language questions

  • “What is our average invoiced hourly rate per client?”
  • “What share of tracked time has been linked to an invoice?”
  • “Which projects cost more in expenses and time than they brought in?”
  • “Which clients regularly pay their invoices after the due date?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in FreshBooks connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from FreshBooks is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which FreshBooks data can you use?

Typically invoices, estimates, clients and expenses. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about FreshBooks data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect FreshBooks?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
