Connect Unit4. Through your own data warehouse.

You use Unit4 data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for Unit4.

What is Unit4?

Unit4 is an ERP vendor of Dutch origin that focuses on service organisations, such as consultancies, education institutions, non-profits and public bodies. Its software centres on finance, projects, time and people.

How to use Unit4 data in ENABLE

Data from Unit4 is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Unit4 project data is often combined with HR and payroll data from Nmbrs or Personio, bringing utilisation and cost per employee together. Adding Jira or Azure DevOps shows the progress of the work itself on IT projects.

Note: Unit4 ERP was previously called Agresso. You will still come across that name in older documentation and in everyday use.

Plain-language questions

  • “What share of available hours was billable last month, per team?”
  • “On which projects have actual costs already exceeded the project budget?”
  • “How many of the hours logged did we actually end up invoicing?”
  • “How do personnel costs compare with revenue, per business unit?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in Unit4 connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from Unit4 is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which Unit4 data can you use?

Typically general ledger and transactions, projects and project budgets, timesheets and employees and resources. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about Unit4 data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect Unit4?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
