Connect SAP S/4HANA. Through your own data warehouse.

You use SAP S/4HANA data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for SAP S/4HANA.

What is SAP S/4HANA?

SAP S/4HANA is SAP's ERP system for large and international organisations, and the successor to SAP ERP (ECC). It supports finance, procurement, logistics, manufacturing and sales in one system, in the cloud or on-premise.

How to use SAP S/4HANA data in ENABLE

Data from SAP S/4HANA is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

SAP S/4HANA data is often combined with a CRM such as Salesforce for the commercial side, and with carrier data from DHL or UPS to measure delivery reliability all the way to the customer.

Note: An SAP environment often contains several company codes, each with its own currency. Agree up front how you combine and convert them in reporting.

Plain-language questions

  • “What percentage of sales orders was delivered in full and on the promised date, per plant?”
  • “For which materials does the actual purchase price differ most from the standard price?”
  • “How does the operating margin differ between profit centres?”
  • “Which suppliers meet their confirmed delivery date least often?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in SAP S/4HANA connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from SAP S/4HANA is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which SAP S/4HANA data can you use?

Typically general ledger postings, cost centres and profit centres, sales orders, deliveries and billing documents and purchase orders and goods receipts. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about SAP S/4HANA data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect SAP S/4HANA?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
