Connect Sage. Through your own data warehouse.

You use Sage data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for Sage.

What is Sage?

Sage is a British software company with a range of accounting and ERP packages for small to mid-sized organisations. Depending on the package, it covers financial records, stock, purchasing and sales.

How to use Sage data in ENABLE

Data from Sage is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Setting Sage data next to an online shop such as Shopify or BigCommerce shows which products sell well online and what that does to stock. Adding budgets from Excel lets you compare actuals with the plan.

Note: Sage is a family of packages, such as Sage 50, Sage 200 and Sage Intacct. Which data exists and how it is structured depends heavily on the package you use.

What you do with Sage data

Plain-language questions

  • “How many times a year does our stock turn over, per product group?”
  • “Which customers account for most of our outstanding receivables?”
  • “How has the gross margin moved month by month since the price increase?”
  • “Which purchase orders have been placed but not yet invoiced?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in Sage connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from Sage is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which Sage data can you use?

Typically nominal ledger and journals, sales invoices, purchase invoices and customers and suppliers. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about Sage data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect Sage?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
