Connect Basecamp. Through your own data warehouse.

You use Basecamp data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for Basecamp.

What is Basecamp?

Basecamp is project communication software from 37signals in which each project has its own space with to-do lists, message boards, a schedule and files. It suits small agencies and teams that want to discuss client work in one place.

How to use Basecamp data in ENABLE

Data from Basecamp is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Projects from Basecamp next to hours from Harvest and invoices from Moneybird show what a project cost and what it earned. With client data from Teamleader Focus you can see which clients commission the most projects.

Plain-language questions

  • “How many to-dos were completed per project over the last month?”
  • “Which to-dos are past their due date and still open?”
  • “Which projects hit their planned end date this year?”
  • “Which projects have had no activity in the last two weeks?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

How to connect Basecamp

  1. 1Sketch the end resultFirst decide which questions and dashboards you want from Basecamp data; that tells you which data is needed.
  2. 2Load into your data warehouseOutside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration. We decide which route fits during the intake.
  3. 3ModelTables and definitions that work with your other sources, so everyone sees the same numbers.
  4. 4Use in ENABLEPower BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API, with access profiles and optional row-level security.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in Basecamp connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from Basecamp is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which Basecamp data can you use?

Typically projects, to-do lists and to-dos with due dates, completed to-dos with completion dates and messages and comments. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about Basecamp data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect Basecamp?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
