Connect Azure DevOps. Through your own data warehouse.
You use Azure DevOps data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for Azure DevOps.
Azure DevOps is a set of development services from Microsoft, with Boards for work planning, Repos for code and Pipelines for building and deploying. It is mostly used by development teams in organisations that already work with Microsoft technology.
How to use Azure DevOps data in ENABLE
Data from Azure DevOps is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.
Work items from Azure DevOps next to hours or project costs from Dynamics 365 Finance or Business Central show what an epic really cost. With tickets from Zendesk you can follow a customer report from first contact to fix.
Note: Which work item types and states exist depends on the process a project uses (Basic, Agile, Scrum or CMMI). Projects on different processes can only be compared once you map their types and states onto each other.

What you do with Azure DevOps data
Plain-language questions
“How many story points did each team complete per iteration over the past year?”
“How long does a bug take to go from Active to Closed, by area path?”
“Which work items have been in the backlog for more than sixty days without any change?”
“What share of pipeline runs succeed, per project?”
The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer
Does ENABLE have a built-in Azure DevOps connector?
No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from Azure DevOps is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.
Which Azure DevOps data can you use?
Typically work items (for example epics, user stories, bugs, tasks), iterations and area paths, work item state history and story points or remaining work. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.
Can I ask questions about Azure DevOps data in plain language?
Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.
What does it cost to connect Azure DevOps?
The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
