Connect GitHub. Through your own data warehouse.

You use GitHub data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for GitHub.

What is GitHub?

GitHub is a platform for hosting code with Git and for collaboration between developers. Teams use its repositories, pull requests, issues, Projects and GitHub Actions to build and test software.

How to use GitHub data in ENABLE

Data from GitHub is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Pull requests from GitHub next to issues from Jira or Linear show how much time sits between planning, building and shipping. With tickets from Zendesk you can see whether releases coincide with more customer questions.

What you do with GitHub data

Plain-language questions

  • “How long does a pull request stay open on average before it is merged, by repository?”
  • “How many pull requests were merged per week last quarter?”
  • “Which issues labelled bug have been open for more than thirty days?”
  • “How often does a workflow run fail, and in which repository most often?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in GitHub connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from GitHub is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which GitHub data can you use?

Typically repositories, pull requests with opened, reviewed and merged times, reviews and comments and issues with labels and state. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about GitHub data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect GitHub?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
