Connect Jira. Through your own data warehouse.

You use Jira data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for Jira.

What is Jira?

Jira is work management software from Atlassian, originally built for software teams. Teams use it to plan and track issues, sprints and releases on scrum or kanban boards.

How to use Jira data in ENABLE

Data from Jira is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Issues from Jira next to tickets from Zendesk show how quickly customer problems are picked up and fixed as bugs. With hours from Harvest or Toggl Track you can also see what an epic really cost.

Note: Story points and other fields are often custom fields that are named or used differently in each Jira site. Agree per team what each field means before comparing teams.

What you do with Jira data

Plain-language questions

  • “How many story points did each team complete per sprint on average over the last six months?”
  • “How long does a bug stay open on average before it is resolved, by priority?”
  • “Which issues have sat in the same status for more than thirty days?”
  • “How much work each month went on bugs compared with new features?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

How to connect Jira

  1. 1Sketch the end resultFirst decide which questions and dashboards you want from Jira data; that tells you which data is needed.
  2. 2Load into your data warehouseOutside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration. We decide which route fits during the intake.
  3. 3ModelTables and definitions that work with your other sources, so everyone sees the same numbers.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in Jira connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from Jira is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which Jira data can you use?

Typically issues with type (story, bug, task) and priority, status changes with timestamps, sprints with start and end dates and story points or other estimates. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about Jira data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect Jira?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
