Connect ClickHouse. Through your own data warehouse.

You use ClickHouse data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for ClickHouse.

What is ClickHouse?

ClickHouse is an open-source column-oriented database for fast analytical queries on very large volumes of data. It is mostly used for event data, logs and metrics that you want to analyse in near real time.

How to use ClickHouse data in ENABLE

Data from ClickHouse is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Event data from ClickHouse next to subscriptions from Stripe shows which usage goes with paying customers. With orders from your webshop, for example Shopware or Magento, you can link click behaviour to revenue.

Plain-language questions

  • “How many unique users were active yesterday, compared with the average over the past month?”
  • “What share of visitors who viewed a product page went on to complete an order?”
  • “How often was each ad slot clicked, relative to the number of impressions?”
  • “What share of new users activated a core feature within a day?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in ClickHouse connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from ClickHouse is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which ClickHouse data can you use?

Typically event data from websites and apps, clickstreams with page views and clicks, ad impressions and clicks and application logs. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about ClickHouse data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect ClickHouse?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
