Connect Snowflake. Through your own data warehouse.

You use Snowflake data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for Snowflake.

What is Snowflake?

Snowflake is a cloud data platform used mainly as a data warehouse, with storage and compute kept separate. It runs on AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud and is used by organisations that want to analyse data from many sources in one place.

How to use Snowflake data in ENABLE

Data from Snowflake is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

If your organisation already has a Snowflake warehouse, it often holds cleaned-up data from Salesforce, NetSuite and Google Ads. Putting those side by side produces margin and retention figures that finance and sales both agree on.

Note: Snowflake charges for compute while a virtual warehouse is running. Schedule heavy queries and reports so that compute is not left running unnecessarily.

Plain-language questions

  • “How did revenue grow per country and product line compared with last year?”
  • “How much revenue from existing customers did we keep, including expansion?”
  • “Which marketing channels returned the most relative to what they cost?”
  • “What share of last year's customers are still customers this year?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

How to connect Snowflake

  1. 1Sketch the end resultFirst decide which questions and dashboards you want from Snowflake data; that tells you which data is needed.
  2. 2Load into your data warehouseOutside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration. We decide which route fits during the intake.
  3. 3ModelTables and definitions that work with your other sources, so everyone sees the same numbers.
  4. 4Use in ENABLEPower BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API, with access profiles and optional row-level security.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in Snowflake connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from Snowflake is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which Snowflake data can you use?

Typically modelled tables and views from an existing data team, raw data from ERP, CRM and marketing tools, historical snapshots for trend analysis and semi-structured data such as JSON in VARIANT columns. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about Snowflake data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect Snowflake?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
