Connect MySQL. Through your own data warehouse.

You use MySQL data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for MySQL.

What is MySQL?

MySQL is a widely used open-source relational database, now part of Oracle. Many web applications and webshop platforms run on it, including WordPress with WooCommerce, and Magento.

How to use MySQL data in ENABLE

Data from MySQL is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Orders from a MySQL-based webshop next to visitor data from Google Analytics 4 and payments from Mollie give a single view of visits, conversion and money actually received. With stock from your ERP you can also see which products sold out during busy periods.

Note: WordPress and WooCommerce store a lot of data as separate key-value pairs in meta tables such as wp_postmeta. These need to be turned into ordinary columns before you can calculate with them properly.

Plain-language questions

  • “How many items does an order contain on average, by product category?”
  • “What share of customers place a second order within a year?”
  • “How many orders were fully or partly refunded this quarter?”
  • “What was the average order value with and without a discount code?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

How to connect MySQL

  2. 2Load into your data warehouseOutside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration. We decide which route fits during the intake.
  3. 3ModelTables and definitions that work with your other sources, so everyone sees the same numbers.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in MySQL connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from MySQL is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which MySQL data can you use?

Typically orders and order lines from a webshop, customer accounts, product catalogue with prices and categories and refunds and credit notes. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about MySQL data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect MySQL?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
