Connect Elasticsearch. Through your own data warehouse.

You use Elasticsearch data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for Elasticsearch.

What is Elasticsearch?

Elasticsearch is a search and analytics engine that stores data as JSON documents in indices and makes it quickly searchable. Organisations use it for search on websites and in applications, and together with Kibana for analysing logs.

How to use Elasticsearch data in ENABLE

Data from Elasticsearch is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Search behaviour from Elasticsearch next to orders from Magento or Shopware shows which searches lead to revenue and where customers drop off. With payment data from Mollie or Adyen you can set failed payments in the logs against what the payment provider recorded.

Plain-language questions

  • “Which search terms on the webshop return no results, and how often are they used?”
  • “How much revenue does a visitor who uses search bring in, compared with one who does not?”
  • “How often did a payment attempt fail last week according to the application logs, by hour?”
  • “What share of search sessions ended in an order?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

Steps

How to connect Elasticsearch

  1. 1Sketch the end resultFirst decide which questions and dashboards you want from Elasticsearch data; that tells you which data is needed.
  2. 2Load into your data warehouseOutside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration. We decide which route fits during the intake.
  3. 3ModelTables and definitions that work with your other sources, so everyone sees the same numbers.
  4. 4Use in ENABLEPower BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API, with access profiles and optional row-level security.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in Elasticsearch connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from Elasticsearch is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which Elasticsearch data can you use?

Typically search queries on the website or in the app, A webshop's product index, application and server logs and error messages, for example from payment requests. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about Elasticsearch data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect Elasticsearch?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
