What is MariaDB?

MariaDB is an open-source relational database that started as a fork of MySQL, set up by some of MySQL's original developers. It ships with several Linux distributions and hosting packages and powers web applications, webshops and internal systems.

How to use MariaDB data in ENABLE

Data from MariaDB is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Customer and order data from a MariaDB application next to email campaigns from Klaviyo or Mailchimp show which campaigns bring customers back for a second purchase. With invoices from Moneybird or Exact Online, revenue reconciles with the books.

Note: MariaDB is very similar to MySQL, but the two have drifted apart since the fork. SQL that works on MySQL therefore does not always run unchanged on MariaDB.
