Connect PayPal. Through your own data warehouse.

You use PayPal data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for PayPal.

What is PayPal?

PayPal is an online payment service that lets consumers pay with their PayPal account and businesses receive payments. Online shops often offer it alongside cards and local methods, especially for international customers.

How to use PayPal data in ENABLE

Data from PayPal is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Mollie, Stripe or Adyen puts PayPal next to your other payment methods so you can compare fees and refunds. Your shop, such as Shopify or WooCommerce, lets you link transactions to orders.

Note: A PayPal business account can hold balances in several currencies. Agree which exchange rate you use to convert to euros.

Plain-language questions

  • “What share of our international revenue is paid with PayPal?”
  • “How many disputes do buyers open each month, and how many do we win?”
  • “What do PayPal payments cost us per transaction compared with other methods?”
  • “How much balance is still held in currencies other than the euro?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in PayPal connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from PayPal is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which PayPal data can you use?

Typically transactions with type, status and amount, payPal fees per transaction, refunds and buyer disputes and claims. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about PayPal data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect PayPal?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
