What is Google Analytics 4?

Google Analytics 4 is Google's web analytics service that measures visits to websites and apps on the basis of events. Marketers and online shops use it to see where visitors come from, what they do and which actions lead to a conversion.

How to use Google Analytics 4 data in ENABLE

Data from Google Analytics 4 is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Add Google Ads and Meta Ads to put ad spend next to the traffic and conversions it produces. Set GA4 purchases against orders from Shopify or your ERP and you see how much of your actual revenue the tracking captures.

Note: In the standard version, GA4 keeps user-level and event-level data for explorations for a maximum of 14 months. Standard reports remain available, but if you want detailed history you need to store the data yourself.

Plain-language questions

  • “Which channel drove the most purchases last month, and at what conversion rate?”
  • “Which landing pages get plenty of traffic but few engaged sessions?”
  • “What share of total traffic comes from organic search, quarter by quarter?”
  • “Do mobile visitors convert worse than desktop visitors at checkout?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in Google Analytics 4 connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from Google Analytics 4 is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which Google Analytics 4 data can you use?

Typically sessions and users, events and key events (conversions), traffic sources: source, medium and campaign and landing pages and pages viewed. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about Google Analytics 4 data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect Google Analytics 4?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
