Connect Hotjar. Through your own data warehouse.

You use Hotjar data in ENABLE through your own PostgreSQL data warehouse: the data is loaded and modelled there, and dashboards, plain-language questions and apps read from it. ENABLE has no built-in connector for Hotjar.

What is Hotjar?

Hotjar is a website behaviour analytics tool with heatmaps, session recordings, surveys and a feedback widget. Product, UX and marketing teams use it to understand why visitors get stuck on a page.

How to use Hotjar data in ENABLE

Data from Hotjar is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Add Google Analytics 4 to link pages with a lot of negative feedback to their conversion rate. Next to Zendesk, you see whether complaints on the site also show up in support tickets.

Note: Recordings and heatmaps are mainly visual material and are poorly suited to numerical analysis. For reporting, you mostly rely on survey answers and feedback.

What you do with Hotjar data

Plain-language questions

  • “Which comments in the feedback widget come up most often on the checkout page?”
  • “How is the post-purchase survey score developing month by month?”
  • “Which pages see the most rage clicks, and do those pages convert worse?”
  • “What do visitors with a low NPS score give as their main reason?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in Hotjar connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from Hotjar is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which Hotjar data can you use?

Typically heatmaps per page (clicks, scrolls, moves), session recordings, surveys and responses and feedback ratings and comments. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about Hotjar data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect Hotjar?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
