What is Google Search Console?

Google Search Console is a free Google service that shows how a website performs in organic search results. Site owners and SEO specialists use it to track search queries, visibility and technical indexing issues.

How to use Google Search Console data in ENABLE

Data from Google Search Console is loaded outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration, and then modelled in your data warehouse. Data Analytics sets this up. From then on Power BI dashboards, the SQL Explorer with AI and the data API read from the same model, and access profiles decide who sees what.

Add Google Analytics 4 and you see not only how many people arrive from Google, but also whether they convert. Next to Semrush, you compare your own measured rankings with those of competitors.

Note: Search Console keeps performance data for 16 months, so if you want to look back further you have to store it yourself. Rare queries are hidden for privacy reasons, which means the sum per query comes out lower than the total.

Plain-language questions

  • “For which queries do we rank between positions 5 and 15, with plenty of impressions but few clicks?”
  • “Which pages lost the most clicks last quarter?”
  • “How are clicks on branded queries developing compared with non-branded ones?”
  • “How many pages on the site are not indexed, and why?”

The SQL Explorer with AI turns a question like this into SQL on your data warehouse. You see the query, run it yourself, and the AI only receives metadata. More about the SQL Explorer

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does ENABLE have a built-in Google Search Console connector?

No. ENABLE reads from your own PostgreSQL data warehouse. Data from Google Search Console is loaded into it outside the portal, with a standard connector or a custom integration; we decide which route fits during the intake.

Which Google Search Console data can you use?

Typically search queries, pages, clicks and impressions and click-through rate. Exactly which tables you use depends on the questions you want to answer: Data Analytics first sketches the end result and then connects the data it needs.

Can I ask questions about Google Search Console data in plain language?

Yes, with the SQL Explorer with AI. The AI turns your question into SQL on your data warehouse and only receives metadata for that, such as table and column names, never the rows themselves. The SQL Explorer is available to client admins by default and can be switched on for users per organisation.

What does it cost to connect Google Search Console?

The price of ENABLE depends on your plan. Each plan includes a number of data sources, from 2 on Solo to 50 on Enterprise+, and an extra data source costs €49 per month. Prices are indicative; after a demo and intake you receive a tailored proposal.
